Message in a Bottle Cap- We donated to a good cause

The Bottle Cap necklace was the hit of the summer. The children at camp were obsessed with making these adorable necklaces, which are simply photographs glued inside vintage soda bottle caps. We made hundreds of these over the last couple of weeks of camp. The cool part about them is that the campers came up with the idea that we could sell them to raise money to find a cure for breast cancer.

So during the 2nd to last Friday night of camp we did. The campers, my staff and I made necklaces all sorts and we raised $415.00 for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

So the past three weekends Dan brought them to the flea market and the stories that are attached with each purchase of these bottle caps touches your heart.

A husband passes by and admires the necklaces, he relates that his wife is fighting cervical cancer, the passerby that says my mom is a survivor, or the ticket taker of the flea market that says "what a great idea, I'll buy one". We don't have to sell the idea or scream bottle cap necklaces for sale, they just get buy them and relate their stories.

There are many people out there who have been touched by cancer. If these necklaces are the link to making us remember, support, fight a cause with a cute necklace to cheer us up than that is what we will do.

Remember the Avon walk is just 22 days away. You can donate to Na's girls at www.avonwalk.org (donate to team Na's girls) or click on my blog just below and it will go directly to the link.

Have a great day.
