Sizing up Jeans

As the "denim" expert at my retail establishment (through reputation only) not a paying postion, it is a known fact that a woman must try on a least 12 pairs of jeans in order to find 1 that fits her shape.

In this clothing obsessed world we are very fortunate to have hundreds of styles to choose from.

However, when one approaches the denim department where does one start. Well there are skinny jeans, not that it makes you look skinny but they are perfect to tuck into boots or with flats. Then there are the slight boot cut, regular boot cut that are nice with shoe boots and heels. On to the slight flare, regular flare and wide leg (thank god we are done with wide leg for now. )

Then there are the rises. dangerously low rise (bikini line), low rise 1" above the bikini line, midrise below the belly button, high rise at your waist, old fashion high rise above waist and couture high rise chic but sucks in your waist.

You have your non stretch, slightly stretch, full on stretch and 100% spandex.

Who fits what ....to be continued. It is my mission to try on each of these jeans and let you know who they should fit and why. If you are a specific body type give me a comment and I will answer with my best recommendation.

To date, I am familiar with levi, lucky, hudson, joe's, 7 for mankind, dkny, calvin, michael kors, not your daughters jeans, tummy tuck and a few smaller brands.

Test my knowledge.... have denim day

p.s. DKNY are awesome slightly stretch midrise jeans that fits all body type. The tip of the day is to buy them one size smaller you'll feel good and you'll look even better
